FTIR Spectrometer (Thermo Scientific Nicolet iS50)
Description
Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) is a powerful analytical technique used to identify chemical
substances and study molecular structures by measuring the absorption of infrared light. The principle of FT-IR is
based on the fact that different chemical bonds in a molecule vibrate at characteristic frequencies when exposed to
infrared radiation. These vibrations can be observed as absorption bands in the infrared region of the
electromagnetic spectrum. It is commonly used in functional group identification, organic synthesis, polymer
science, petrochemical engineering, the pharmaceutical sector, and food analysis, etc.
